Created by pioneering seaside and mountain resort developers, in 1982, the association comprised 7 members and 70,000 beds.

"Résidences de Tourisme" has expanded hand in hand with the growth in demand. In 2010, SNRT currently has 92 members and more than 413,000 beds.

This represents approximately 66% of the profession as a whole (in number of beds). In certain tourist regions (Alps/Mediterranean coast), the accommodation offered by members represents more than 50% of available standard beds.

The board of the association brings together representatives from the Pierre & Vacances, Lagrange, Odalys, Citadines, and Mer et Golf groups, + 3 representatives from independent complexes.

The chairman of the board is Jean GAILLARD. The treasurer is Sym K. LEE. The union representative is Pascale JALLET. A number of working committees have been set up based on different themes :

Social : collective agreement, industry-wide agreements

Operations : professional practices, maintenance, safety, relations with landlords, applicable regulations, etc.

Sustainable development : measures at pilot sites, drafting of specifications for renovation.

Communication : exchange of statistical data, defining joint professional action.

Each year, the SNRT holds a general annual meeting for its members, to provide an opportunity to compare problems, find solutions, and share information, etc. These meetings enable links to be established between members, unify the profession and guarantee consistent action.
